From the North Atlantic, Pt. 1

Now we just have to make sure our ends have means…

New York City! (Now that I have take to post.) September 3rd was a big day. We were up an at ‘em, breakfasting at 9:00 and walking to the One World for our 10:00 appointment on the observation deck. The building, the presentation, and the view were magnificent. Afterwards we walked through ground zero and some of the 9/11 memorial features of the area, all quite dramatic. However, we did not go to the actual museum, so I don’t know how the events of 9/11 were depicted. I don’t know if there was any reference to Building 7 and/or an explanation of how and why that structure was also brought down on that day. We did see construction going on where it had stood, but no obvious reference to what it was or what it will be.  Perhaps one must simply do more research…

We drove the rental back to the Budget place on East 9th St., then walked to Greenwich Village, hung out for a spell in Washington Square Park and grabbed some lunch, before taking the subway to the Empire State Building. Took in another grand view of the NYC from another observation deck, then went back to the hotel for a nap. After dinner we rode back up to Mid Town to take in the sites of Times Square, walked to the Rockefeller Center, the Library, and some other spots before finally going back and to bed.

Yes, September 3rd was a big day. Grammy Carol and cousin Steve were born this day, and before it was over we received the sad news that Uncle Herb had passed away.

Here we are in NYC…

Some clips in NYC…
