Australia ’26, Pt. 1

2026, here we go! But before we go to Australia, here’s some early January: A walk of ducks & fungi, followed by world marble experiments, followed by a graphic arts lesson from Mike Shaff, a walk at Mavericks, x-rays of my messed up right shoulder, coastal flowers, my Chinese Visa guru David Mei, a fun Lit Night with Alan Burr and friends, and some scenes from home…

Flew to Sydney ’round mid-Jan. for a trip to catch up with some Intrepid friends. This batch has some Sydney outskirts and walks in and around Terrigal, about an hour’s drive north…

More Terrigal, then the start of a road trip up to Byron Bay, starting with night in Croki. Then a stop at Nambucca Heads, and some guys cruisin’ the highway…

Did a stroll around Bellingen, then on to Byron Bay where there were DJ jams in the park by the beach!

After a couple of nights in Byron, drove to Nimbin via a variety of charming little inland villages. Gotta love Australian names like Mullumbimby, Murwillumbah, Jingi Jingi, Dum Dum, and Tumbi Umbi…

Traveling thru Mount Jerusalem National Park…

More bits on the road to Nimbin…

Nimbin is famous for its marijuana/cannabis culture, and a hippy scene going back decades. Rainbows and the smell of ganja are everywhere…

I had the privilege of staying at Amari Farms outside Nimbin for almost a week. Beautiful cattle ranch with lots of other animals and cute kids. This batch includes another trip into town…

Here’s another trip exploring around the countryside whilst looking after the kids…

Here’s the local school – and a local lunch…!

To learn about the recent history of Nimbin, check out the Rainbow Walk…

Now, let’s walk it!

Have left the area, but not the country. More soon…!
