The LHPUSD School Board has voted to construct new modular buildings at La Honda Elementary School. Part of the discussion has been demolishing the main classroom building in the center of campus. I have many reservations about the plan, but the purpose of this post is simply to advocate for the preservation and restoration of this building. To my mind, given its high ceilings, huge windows with natural light, and the feng shui of its location, it is the best in the district. Preserved, it could serve as an alternative school for La Honda, a center for Outdoor Education, or art studios for the community. Here’s a little slideshow I made for that building…
